We try to eat well. I try to limit sugar - although I do allow Lei to drink half-water/half-juice. And, we do have gelato or ice cream on occasion.
Candy, however is TOTALLY off limits.
If that were true, then I would not know with full certainty that a Blow Pop lasts up to 200 miles in the hands of a two and a half year-old.

I believe there are no rules for little ones on a road trip. The only objective is to arrive at your destination in one piece with the driver's sanity preserved. I can remember with clarity a few solo trips from Indiana to Milwaukee in a Chevette with no aircon. One in particular when we had to stop in downtown Chicago to apply for Japanese Visa's. I had been given the wrong address, which I found out after I parked the car (and paid $20). So pre-schooler Katie, toddler Jason and their newly pregnant (and nauseated) mom walked around downtown Chicago in search of the recently relocated Japanese Consulate. Memories...
